Work Tasks

• THINNING: Thinning involves removing small fruit buds and/or identifiable fruit from clusters to control fruit size and quality. Requires handling a 10-foot orchard ladder weighing 40 pounds.
• Pruning: Hand pruning and pruning from a motorized platform includes removing stubs, broken branches, shaded interior branches, dead wood, and suckers using hand shears, hand loppers, handsaws, and power tools.
• Blueberry Harvest: Operating a mechanical harvester, sorting berries by size, weight, color, or condition, and performing routine maintenance checks.
• Harvester Operation: Driving and operating a blueberry harvester, loading and unloading trays, and cleaning the harvester.
• Other Tasks: Assisting with property establishment, irrigation system installation, and trellis system construction.
