Farm Operations Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Manages policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
Balances work cell capacity/loading across the plant.
Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Extensive knowledge of Poultry management to include, the care and nutritional needs of chickens. Must have an understanding of the operation and maintenance of the equipment used in egg production and egg processing. Must have an understanding of the maintenance needs of barns, mills, tractors, vehicles in an agricultural environment. Must understand Bio-Security needs in a poultry environment and the protection of the flocks from disease. Must have an understanding of the preferred Animal Welfare practices in the industry.
Strong communications skills. Team building skills Ability to manage several projects at the same time. Conflict resolution skills. Ability to follow and enforce Company policies and procedures in a consistent manner. Manage a budget in order to manage the farm in a cost efficient manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sit, use keyboard, use fine manipulation with hands and fingers. Lift up to 10 pounds.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Temperature varies in relation to the outside temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment needed.
