About the role

The Family Wealth Strategist serves as the Lead Advisor’s counterpart, providing consultative services to high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families. This role integrates various wealth management strategies and family office services to align financial capital with family values, vision, and dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the advisor’s primary point of contact and liaison, coordinating all aspects of the client's integrated plan.
  • Conduct thorough discovery to ascertain the family’s long-term objectives that align with their principles and vision.
  • Identify issues and needs to design an integrated plan based on the family’s objectives.
  • Consult with the advisor and family on the overall integrated plan and the complex interaction between different domains.
  • Recognize opportunities to position and coordinate internal and external partners in alignment with objectives.
  • Construct an actionable roadmap prioritizing when and how to address the family’s needs and structure engagement pricing.
  • Communicate pertinent client information and objectives among multiple partners to streamline communications while minimizing duplication.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to develop and implement strategies across a broad range of legal, tax, and financial planning topics to ensure alignment with the client’s integrated plan and effectively facilitate the communication of complex techniques.
  • Manage the delivery of planning components ensuring timely execution and a seamless experience throughout the engagement.
  • Support the development of advisors to equip them to lead family meetings and conversations.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation required.
  • Other advanced degree or designation desirable (MBA, CFA, CPA).
  • Series 6 or 7 and resident state insurance license required or working towards license within 6 months.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, or a related field directly working with advisors and U/HNW clients ($40M+).
  • Experience working with family offices highly desirable.
  • Strong expertise across multiple areas of wealth management including financial planning, insurance and investment products, estate and business planning, and other HNW planning strategies with a deep understanding of the implications a particular solution may have on others.
  • Exceptional organizational, strategic, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal and financial concepts clearly and concisely to non-expert family members.
  • Unquestioned integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling highly confidential matters.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects.
  • Pioneering ability to develop rapport and strong relationships with clients, financial advisors, internal teams and third-party partners.
  • Advanced experience with financial planning software and Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.

We offer a competitive compensation range starting at $160,000.00 and ending at $240,000.00. Our geographic specific pay structure is structured to reflect local market conditions and benefits, making us a top choice for professionals seeking a rewarding career.
