What will you do as a Family Support Worker?

As a Family Support Worker in the Florida Case Management Organization (CMO) department, you will:

• Provide transportation of youth to/from out-of-home care placements, to/from school, and to/from visits.
• Supervise parent visits.
• Manage crisis situations, de-escalate youth and adults, and drive.

A typical day as a Family Support Worker involves face-to-face interactions with high-needs teenagers while transporting them. Work hours vary based on shift and client demand, requiring an on-call schedule for nights and weekends.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A High School diploma/GED required; A.A. preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience (human services or childcare experience preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A reliable vehicle/transportation
  • A valid driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and a clean driving record are required
  • Meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the department

• All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
