Description
Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has since expanded to operate across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson's continuum of care includes prevention, mental health services, and foster care, all of which are trauma-informed and evidence-based.
What will you do as a Family Support Worker?
As a Family Support Worker in the Florida Case Management Organization (CMO) department, you will:
- Provide transportation of youth to/from out-of-home care placements, to/from school, and to/from visits.
- Supervise parent visits.
- Manage crisis situations, de-escalate youth and adults, and drive.
A typical day as a Family Support Worker involves face-to-face interactions with high-needs teenagers while transporting them. Work hours vary based on shift and client demand, requiring an on-call schedule for nights and weekends.

Starting Pay Rate: $18 hourly

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- A High School diploma/GED required; A.A. preferred
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience (human services or childcare experience preferred)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A reliable vehicle/transportation
- A valid driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and a clean driving record are required
- Meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the department
