About the role
Embracing Heart Supportive Services is seeking a Family Support Worker to help families stay together and come back together. This position ensures safe, nurturing family contact by supervising parent-child interactions and assisting parents in learning and improving parenting and life skills.
Responsibilities
- Supports case plan goals through teaching, role modeling, and demonstration
- Provides intensive, hands-on assistance and education to the family in an effort to successfully complete their goals
- Serves as a resource for life skills, parenting skills, supervised visitation, and other services in the client's home or a community-based setting
- Maintains safety by monitoring family interactions and client behaviors, identifying and protecting the safety of all participants, and assisting in finding community resources
- Attends family team meetings, client assessments, stakeholder meetings, and case conferences, school conferences, and court appearances as appropriate
- Provides transportation of clients, as needed, using a personal vehicle
- Completes written documentation for the client's file in a timely manner
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a human relations field or enrollment in a related field within two semesters of completion
- Associate degree or some college plus two years of experience or lived experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
- High School diploma and relevant experience or lived experience in the human services field
- Pass required background checks and have a valid Nebraska driver’s license without serious driving-related offenses
- Have access to a reliable vehicle and carry minimum requirements of auto insurance
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be eligible to work in the United States
- Pass physical examinations and drug tests if required, and have no history of child abuse or neglect
