Position Responsibilities

  • Provide support and education regarding fetal, infant and toddler development, and parenting skills using a research-based model and curriculum.
  • Develop and implement individualized and developmentally appropriate plans for each child and family that meets program standards and the family’s needs.
  • This includes assessing the family’s overall strengths and needs, while making appropriate community referrals as necessary.
  • Complete assessments and screenings to aid in working with the families and identifying their strengths/needs.
  • Complete official case notes/documentation.
  • Position Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Child & Family Studies, Human Services, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or closely related field.
    • A valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurable driving record.
    • Experience working with children and families & knowledge of infant and child development. *Community/ In home experience a plus.*
    • Ability to work in culturally diverse households and communities
    • High degree of initiative and independent judgement.
    • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
    • Must be self-motivated, proactive, and solution focused.
    • Must be able to consistently meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and create your own schedule- utilizing flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home at times.
    • Ability to develop and maintain consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with very young children and their parents.
    • Open to reflective practice (ie: has capacity for introspection, communicates awareness of self in relation to others, recognizes the value of supervision, etc.).
