About the role

Provides direct support and services to victims of crime and develops individualized service plans. Assists with guardianship, family placements, home safety checks, foster care placements, monthly and regular client visits. Directs caregivers to resources for the benefit of children in ICW custody. Arranges and schedules appointments and services for families as needed. Maintains a confidential system of records, subject to disclosure to a non-party only upon order of the corresponding tribal and state courts. Assists with all reporting for funding sources as well as required internal reporting requirements relating to current Community Advocacy Department grants and funding. Assists clients with access to individual/family counseling services for youth and their families involved with the Indian Child Welfare Department.

Responsibilities

  • Develops case plans concerning any minor, if an investigation supports, an administrative or judicial finding that the minor is in need of care.
  • Performs a range of staff and/or operational support activities; may serve as a liaison with other departments on basic administrative and/or operational matters.
  • Maintains emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
  • Takes an average of 18 weeks of On-Call responsibilities for ICW and Community Advocacy each year.
  • Communicates effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.

Requirements

  • Education experience such as Associates Degree in Social Science, Human Services, Education, Communication, Psychology or related field.
  • Three years of human service case management experience and/or a combination of thereof.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and reunification guidelines, processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of LGBTQ community.
  • Knowledge of Child Sexual Abuse.

Qualifications

  • Ability to take an average of 18 weeks of On-Call responsibilities for ICW and Community Advocacy each year.
