Family Support Specialist (part-time)

About the role

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is an award‑winning nonprofit, nonsectarian human services organization founded in 1943. It is the largest provider of licensed outpatient community behavioral health services in Westchester County, serving more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds. The organization is seeking a part‑time (21 hours/week) bilingual (English/Spanish) Family Support Specialist to work in satellite offices located in two Peekskill City schools, providing advocacy for parents and families of children and youth with significant social, emotional and behavioral needs (grades K‑3).

Responsibilities

• Provide initial cross‑system assessment of service/resource needs.
• Deliver care‑management services that enable families’ access to necessary supports and services on behalf of their children and youth.
• Conduct classroom, school, and community presentations, and provide psychosocial rehabilitation.
• Offer Children and Family Treatment and Support Services, including Psychosocial Rehab and Family Peer Support services.
• Provide administrative support across school‑based clinics.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of experience working with parents/families of children or adolescents.
• Bilingual Spanish‑English proficiency.
• Current license or license eligibility as a credentialed Family Peer Advocate (preferred).
• Ability to engage with and support families/parents of children/youth with significant social, emotional, or behavioral needs across the full economic spectrum.
• Ability to form strong professional relationships with school and social service personnel.
• Proficiency with computer and standard office software applications.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Pay

$30,000 annually for the part‑time position.

Schedule

Part‑time, 21 hours per week.
