Family Support Specialist Bilingual Spanish
About the role
The hourly range for this position is $21.50 - $24.50 for employees hired in the Contra Costa, Antioch, CA area. The pay range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate for candidates hired within the Bay Area region. Candidates hired in other California locations may have different starting rates based on cost of living and market data variations. Factors that may be used to determine your actual starting rate include your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, the market data for your work location, and internal comparisons to other employees in similar roles.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of enrolled families per agency policy.
- Provide weekly home visits, curriculum-based instruction (GGK, Ages and Stages, etc.), and engagement with pre-enrolled clients.
- Maintain regular contact to support family retention.
- Connect families to community resources and services that promote stability and child development.
- Host and participate in monthly workshops and family engagement activities.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all interactions.
- Complete all required documentation in the database within established timelines.
- Maintain accurate, organized family files and instructional materials.
- Adhere to agency, funder, state, and federal confidentiality standards.
- Attend team, collaborative, community, and all-staff meetings.
- Participate in required trainings and supervision.
- Maintain CPR/First Aid certification and professional boundaries.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in home visitation, family services, or child welfare.
- An Associate's Degree in Child Development or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is required (15 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units completed).
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English/Spanish.
- Must meet all state-required conditions of employment, including:
- Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance
- TB/Health physical
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance
