Family Specialist I
Compensation
We offer a starting hourly range of $28.48 - $35.02, with additional benefits including a 7.5% bilingual differential and a 8% license differential for certain certifications. A 401K plan with employer matching up to 4% is also provided.

Job Summary
Within a team process, you will develop a strength-based relationship with youth and caregivers, intervening with maladaptive behaviors while fostering the youth's strengths and interests. You will link youth and families to community resources and assist in transitioning them to lower levels of care.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct services to youth and families, documenting in alignment with MediCal regulations and meeting productivity expectations.
- Manages and builds relationships with parents, youth, and others involved in the family's care.
- Utilizes strengths of youth, families, and others to support goal achievement and positive behavior change.
- Engages caregivers, family members, and other natural supports in building youth-specific parenting responses.
- Develops safety and skill refinement plans for youth and families, and monitors outcomes.
- Participates in family finding activities, identifies needs, obtains authorizations, creates teams, conducts searches, and sets deadlines.
- Completes Connectedness Maps as needed and documents interactions and practices.
- Supports families in bridging to or building on natural resources and accessing community-based program supports.
- Facilitates and/or co-facilitates group dynamics in various settings, providing a safe space for expression of feelings and ideas.
- Builds solid, cooperative, culturally responsive relationships with youth and families, and community resources.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned to support department/business needs.

Relevant experience is required, including providing direct behavioral support, implementing behavior intervention plans, familiarity with trauma-informed care, and experience in school-based, residential, or community mental health settings.

Physical Requirements
The employee must remain physically fit to keep children and themselves safe.
