About the role

You will be joining a multi-practitioner clinic that has provided care to the Beaver Valley region for over 40 years. Situated in the walkable downtown core of Fruitvale, BC, you will be practicing rural family medicine within a 15-minute drive of Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (75 beds, 80,000 population) in Trail, BC, which offers comprehensive specialist services. You’ll be less than 40-minutes away from two world-class ski resorts, Red Mountain and Whitewater, and even closer to multiple golf courses, lakes, hiking and biking trails, and campsites.

Work environment

• Collegial team of practitioners and knowledgeable, experienced staff
• Modern, purpose-built building with 4 offices and attached exam rooms, 3 additional offices, a well-equipped minor surgery room, ECG equipment, and a staff lounge
• Uses MedAccess EMR
• Part of the KB Primary Care Network with nurses, a social worker, and an occupational therapist directly supporting the clinic and enabling team-based care
• Access to a regional team of allied health providers, including a pharmacist, registered dietitian, and respiratory therapist
• Support in administering your chosen compensation model

Compensation

• Estimated remuneration: $400,000 – $475,000
• Physician overhead: 30–33% (fixed plus variable; inquire for details)
• Compensation options: fee for service or Longitudinal Family Practice Model (LFP)

Benefits and incentives

• Vacation leave: 6–8 weeks per year
• May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including:
  • Retention premium: 11.48%
  • Retention flat fee: $17,790.72
• Relocation funding: $9,000–$15,000
• Recruitment incentive: $15,000 (based on full-time)
• Up to $4,840 in yearly CME funding available
