About the role
We are seeking a Family Practice Physician to provide comprehensive primary care to active-duty service members, their families, and other eligible beneficiaries at NBHC Meridian, MS.
Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages for acute, chronic, and preventive care needs;
- Perform minor procedures and prescribe medications;
- Conduct wellness exams, immunizations, and required military physicals (PHAs, deployment and separation exams);
- Perform occupational medicine exams, including fitness-for-duty and return-to-work evaluations;
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; generate referrals and consultations when clinically indicated;
- Maintain accurate documentation in MHS GENESIS (DoD Electronic Health Record);
- Collaborate with and provide clinical guidance to corpsmen, nursing staff, and the broader MTF care team.
Qualifications
- Education: MD or DO from a medical school accredited by the LCME, COCA, or equivalent (ECFMG certification required for foreign-trained physicians)
- Residency & Board Certification: Completed an accredited Family Medicine residency; Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABFM or AOBFP)
- Licensure & Certifications: Active, unrestricted state medical license; current hands-on BLS/ACLS (AHA or ARC); valid DEA registration
Requirements
- Experience: Clinical experience within the past 2 years demonstrating current competency
- Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen, required for CAC eligibility (Tier 1 background investigation)
