Job Title: Family Pastor Date Posted: 2/10/2026 Categories: Children (birth – 5th grade) and Senior Adults Denomination: Baptist – Southern Baptist Convention Church Size: 450 Job Type: Full- Time, Salary with Benefits Reports To: Lead Pastor Job Description Position Summary: The Associate Pastor of Family Ministries is responsible for visionary leadership and direction of integrated and thriving children’s and senior adult ministries for Bethany Baptist Church. This will include, but is not limited to, ongoing ministries, special events, seasonal activities, and the development and implementation of future ministry opportunities. Responsibilities General Pastoral Duties: Work cohesively with the ministerial staff to lead the church in growing as disciples of Christ.Provide pastoral care to the families of Bethany Baptist Church , with a focus on children and senior adults.Actively participate in, and contribute to, staff meetings and church-wide initiatives.Assist in pulpit ministry, as needed, and assist with other ministerial needs as directed by the Lead Pastor. Children’s Ministry Plan and implement curriculum for Sunday school, Wednesday night discipleship, music programs, and children’s church.Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and ensure compliance with all child protection policies.Coordinate and manage all volunteer schedules.Manage, and adhere to, children’s ministry budget.Oversee facility utilization for children’s programs.Planning and coordination of special events including, but not limited to fall festivals, summer camps, Vacation Bible School, Easter events, and Christmas programs.Effectively communicate with the church and community regarding events happening in the children’s ministry.Provide oversight and direction to the Children’s Ministry Committee Senior Adult Ministry Provide oversight and direction to the Senior Adult Team to:Plan and attend activities and fellowships to occur on a regular basis.Organize worship opportunitiesManage and adhere to budget for Senior Adult MinistryCoordinate, lead, and participate in a comprehensive visitation ministry, including home bound, widows, hospitalized, and other settings as appropriate.Support ongoing ministries, such as Bethany Gold. Organize and deploy a community outreach ministry to reach the unchurched in the community. Qualifications Required: A clear calling to the Gospel ministry.Meet all qualifications found in I Timothy 3:1-7Minimum of a High School DiplomaStrong leadership and organization skills.Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, effectively with various age groups. Preferred Previous experience in children’s ministry and/or senior adult ministry.Experience in planning, developing, and implementing Biblical educational programs and/or familiarity with curriculum planning and event coordination.Education in Christian Ministry
