Family Partner (Part-time)

About the role

The Family Partner (Part-time) role at JRI’s Community Service Agencies is dedicated to supporting youth under 21 with serious emotional disturbances. This position works alongside caregivers, offering support and guidance through various systems like child welfare, special education, and juvenile justice.

Responsibilities

• Support youth and their families in navigating multiple systems of care.
• Utilize caregiving experiences to enhance the lives of youth with challenging behaviors.
• Offer strength-based peer-to-peer education, coaching, role modeling, and support services.
• Work alongside clinicians, young adult peer mentors, and therapeutic support specialists.
• Enable parents and caregivers to learn effective advocacy skills.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• A minimum of an Associate degree in a human services field and one year of experience working with the target population is preferred.
• Alternatively, a High School diploma or GED, combined with two years of experience in the same field, is required.
• Must be a parent or legal guardian of a youth facing emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges.
• Experience in navigating systems to secure support for their child's needs.
• Experience with challenges faced in home, school, or community settings.

Qualifications

• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.

• Ability to navigate complex systems and advocate effectively.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $32.50 per hour. The actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a part-time position requiring a minimum commitment of 24 hours each week. Candidates must be available for three working days between Monday and Friday, and attend a mandatory staff meeting every Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and supervision once a week.
