Family Nurse Practitioner Immunology (PH5703 - Allergy Institute)

Duties And Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and treats allergic or immunologic conditions
• Provides therapies such as allergen immunotherapy and immunoglobin therapy
• Prescribes medication such as antihistamines, antibiotics, and nasal, oral, topical, or inhaled glucocorticosteroids
• Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen
• Completes thorough documentation of each patient’s visit
• Maintains knowledge and continuing education related to advancements in the field of allergy and immunology
• Maintains appropriate productivity standards of specialty as established by the Center
• Provides excellent customer service to assist patients with their health care needs
• Provides clinical oversight over clinical support staff engaged in activities and procedures, as appropriate

Job Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner Program
• Board Certified AANP, ANCC, or related required
• Previous experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Immunology or similar specialty highly desirable
• Must have current unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner from the Texas Board of Nursing
• Annual continuing medical education as required by board specialty
• Must be registered and have current DEA
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association
• Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
