Family Nurse Practitioner for Acute Pain Service, Medical Pain Service and Pain Management Center Clinic

About the role

The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to patients within the Acute Pain Service, Medical Pain Service, and Pain Management Center Clinic. This role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including history and physical examinations, for patients with pain-related conditions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions according to established protocols and scope of practice
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures as appropriate
  • Provide patient and family education regarding pain management strategies, medications, and treatment plans
  • Document patient care activities in the electronic health record in accordance with institutional policies
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care coordination activities
  • Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust plans as needed
  • Provide continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient pain service settings
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice activities

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Active RN and APRN licensure in the state of Ohio, or eligibility to obtain
  • Prescriptive authority or eligibility to obtain
  • BLS and ACLS certification

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in pain management, acute care, or related specialty preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice
