About the Role

South College Online Campus is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program Coordinator to join the Graduate Nursing Team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for specialty classes with oversight of content in courses in specific tracks.
  • Participate in the systematic quality review of curriculum updates and changes related to national accreditors and South College initiatives.
  • Participate in collaborative weekly 1:1 meetings with Associate Dean (AD) for review of operations, curriculum development, faculty, or student issues.
  • Develop faculty for all adjunct faculty teaching in the courses aligned with the program through formal communications and specific program development to address identified issues or improvements.
  • Collaborate with AD and Administrative Coordinator (AC) for all student preparation for practicum, including review of preceptor credentialing, approval of preceptor changes with students, and problem-solving any student/preceptor/site challenges.
  • Review all preceptor assignments for students in practicum.
  • Conduct virtual site reviews for clinical partners/facilities where students are placed (quarterly responsibility).
  • Contribute to collaborative interviews with AD for all new adjuncts teaching in the program of designation.
  • Review new admissions that need oversight per AD for the program of designation.
  • Attend and participate in Program Coordinator (PC) meetings, aligning activities with the strategic plans of the department (bimonthly, concurrently with curriculum meetings).
  • Actively participate in the program curriculum team, initiating, writing, and overseeing all curriculum changes in the designated program in collaboration with the instructional design team, aligning with program and course outcomes.
  • Coordinate with AD and AC for all course resources for students to enhance learning and improve student outcomes (e.g., APEA, library resources, new software).
  • Collaborate with AD for weekly communications to adjuncts in specialty areas to maintain high standards of faculty performance and technology updates.

Requirements

  • Doctorate/terminal degree in discipline.
  • 3 years of direct supervisory experience in an academic institution; preference given to those with multi-campus leadership experience.
  • Proven subject matter expert for the program of assignment.
  • In exceptional cases, experience may be considered in lieu of academic credentials with detailed documentation.

Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered RN license required.
  • Current national certification in the specialty area aligned with the program of instruction is required (Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification for the FNP program).
  • Documentation of all applicable licenses and certifications must be maintained and current.
  • Faculty teaching in advanced practice nursing programs must maintain certification and clinical expertise consistent with the population focus of the program in which they teach.
