Family Nurse Practitioner

Join MainStreet Family Care as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in Kinston, NC and receive a $11,000 sign-on bonus. We provide urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

About the role

This opportunity is ideal for FNPs early in their career, including new graduates. We offer comprehensive on-site training, including several shifts with existing providers, and ongoing support such as a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and a provider on-call for clinical decision-making. You’ll utilize your full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages—from babies to geriatric patients—while leading a small team of medical assistants. Our clinics serve rural communities, operating 362 days a year to ensure access to care. Many of our locations qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan repayment grants through state-funded programs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat illnesses such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues
• Perform minor procedures (e.g., toenail removal, foreign object removal)
• Suturing and splinting
• General orthopedic evaluations and management, including review of x-rays (over-read by a radiologist)
• General dermatology and eye care
• EKG interpretation
• Emergency management
• General GYN expertise
• Care for children of all ages
• Occupational medicine and telemedicine services

Schedule

Clinics are open 7 days a week with extended hours:

• Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Work a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend. Example:

• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (ON); Wednesday, Thursday (OFF)
• Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday (ON); Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (OFF)

Requirements

• Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (required)
• MSN or higher education (new graduates welcome)
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification (cost covered by employer)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office suite (preferred)
