Family Nurse Practitioner
Join MainStreet Family Care as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in Kinston, NC and receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus. We’re growing and seeking a fast, fun, and friendly FNP to deliver patient-focused care in urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine.
About the role
The ideal candidate will lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent-care setting. This opportunity is perfect for FNPs early in their career—including brand-new graduates—and offers unmatched support:

You’ll practice your full scope of licensure, treating patients of all ages—from babies to geriatrics—while serving rural communities that need access to care. Most clinics qualify for state-funded tuition-reimbursement or student-loan-repayment grants.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper-respiratory issues
- Perform minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign-object removal, etc.)
- Suture wounds and apply splints
- Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and manage conditions
- Review x-rays (over-read by radiologist)
- Address general dermatology, eye problems, and EKG interpretations
- Provide emergency management and general GYN care
- Treat children of all ages
- Deliver occupational-medicine and telemedicine services
Schedule
Clinics are open 362 days a year with extended hours:
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Rotating schedule that includes every other weekend. Sample two-week rotation:
- Week 1: Monday (ON), Tuesday (ON), Wednesday (OFF), Thursday (OFF), Friday (ON), Saturday (ON), Sunday (ON)
- Week 2: Monday (OFF), Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday (ON), Thursday (ON), Friday (OFF), Saturday (OFF), Sunday (OFF)
Qualifications
- Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (new graduates welcome)
- MSN or higher education
- DOT certification or willingness to obtain it (cost covered by employer)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office suite preferred
