Family Nurse Practitioner

About the Role

KidsStreet Urgent Care is growing and seeking a fast, fun, and friendly Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our team full-time. You will provide patient-focused care in urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine settings. This opportunity is ideal for FNPs early in their career, including brand new graduates. We offer comprehensive on-site training, including a hosted HQ orientation and training shifts with existing providers. Support continues with a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course and an NP on-call for clinical decision-making.

This role allows you to utilize your full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages—from babies to geriatric patients. You’ll lead a small team of medical assistants, serving as a professional role model and growing your leadership skills. KidsStreet operates 362 days a year, providing care to families in the community, including Medicaid patients, and helping avoid costly ER visits.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat illnesses such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues
• Perform minor procedures (e.g., toenail removal, foreign object removal)
• Suturing and splinting
• General orthopedic evaluations and management
• Review of X-rays (with radiologist over-read)
• General dermatology and eye problem management
• EKG interpretation
• Emergency management skills
• General GYN expertise
• Care for children of all ages
• Occupational medicine and telemedicine services

Schedule

KidsStreet clinics are open extended hours, 7 days a week:

• Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Work a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend. Sample schedule:

• Week 1: Monday (ON), Tuesday (ON), Wednesday (OFF), Thursday (OFF), Friday (OFF), Saturday (ON), Sunday (ON)
• Week 2: Monday (OFF), Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday (ON), Thursday (ON), Friday (ON), Saturday (OFF), Sunday (OFF)

Qualifications

• Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (required)
• MSN or higher education (required; new graduate friendly)
• DOT certification or willingness to become certified (cost covered by employer)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred
