Family Nurse Practitioner
About the role
KidsStreet Urgent Care is growing and seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide patient-focused care in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment. This opportunity is ideal for FNPs early in their career, including new graduates. We offer extensive training, including on-site orientation, clinical shifts with experienced providers, a complimentary pediatric urgent care course, and ongoing support from an on-call provider to assist with clinical decision-making.
You will utilize your full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages—from infants to geriatric patients—while leading a small team of medical assistants. This role allows you to sharpen your skills across urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine, making you highly marketable for future career growth.
KidsStreet serves as a safety net for families in the community, offering care 362 days a year, including weekends, and accepting Medicaid. This position is a two-year commitment with long-term career benefits.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat illnesses such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues
- Perform minor procedures (e.g., toenail removal, foreign object removal)
- Suturing and splinting
- General orthopedic evaluations and management
- Review of X-rays (with radiologist over-read)
- General dermatology and eye problem assessments
- EKG interpretations
- Emergency management
- General GYN expertise
- Pediatric care for all ages
- Occupational medicine and telemedicine services
Qualifications
- Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (required; new graduates welcome)
- MSN or higher education (required)
- Willingness to obtain DOT certification (cost covered by employer)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office suite (preferred)
Schedule
Clinic hours are 7 days a week with extended shifts:
- Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Rotating schedule example (work 7 out of 14 days):
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (ON); Wednesday, Thursday (OFF)
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday (ON); Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (OFF)
