Family Nurse Practitioner

Join MainStreet Family Care as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in Clayton, NC! We’re growing and seeking a fast, fun, and friendly FNP to deliver patient-focused care in urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. This role is ideal for FNPs early in their career, including brand new graduates—even if you haven’t taken your boards yet!

After our on-site hosted HQ orientation and training, you’ll complete several training shifts with existing providers. Support continues with a complimentary pediatric urgent care course, a provider on-call for clinical decision-making, and unmatched career development resources to help you succeed.

About the role

• Practice to the full scope of your license—treat patients of all ages, from babies to geriatric patients, in a high-volume urgent care setting.
• Lead a small team of medical assistants, serving as a professional role model and inspiring them to advance their careers.
• Work in rural communities with limited access to care, helping reduce ER visits and improve health outcomes.
• Eligible for state-funded tuition or student loan reimbursement grants through qualifying clinics.
• Utilize comprehensive treatment protocols to guide best practices and clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat conditions such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
• Perform minor procedures, including toenail removal, foreign object removal, suturing, and splinting.
• Conduct general orthopedic evaluations, review x-rays (with radiologist over-read), and interpret EKGs.
• Manage general dermatology, eye problems, GYN concerns, and emergency cases.
• Provide care for children of all ages and deliver occupational medicine and telemedicine services.

Schedule

Clinics are open 7 days a week with extended hours:

• Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Work a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend. Sample schedule:

• Week 1: Monday (ON), Tuesday (ON), Wednesday (OFF), Thursday (OFF), Friday (ON), Saturday (ON), Sunday (ON).
• Week 2: Monday (OFF), Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday (ON), Thursday (ON), Friday (OFF), Saturday (OFF), Sunday (OFF).

Requirements

• Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (required).
• MSN or higher education (new graduates welcome!).
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification (cost covered by MainStreet).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
