Family Nurse Practitioner

Join MainStreet Family Care as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in West Pensacola, FL! We’re growing and seeking a fast, fun, and friendly FNP to deliver patient-focused care across urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. This role is perfect for FNPs early in their career—including brand new grads—and offers unmatched support, from on-site training to an on-call NP for clinical decision-making.

About the role

You’ll lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting, treating patients of all ages—from babies to geriatric patients—utilizing your full scope of practice. This role keeps your skills sharp and makes you highly marketable for future opportunities. As the medical provider in the clinic, you’ll serve as a leader and role model for your team of medical assistants, with access to treatment protocols to guide best practices.

We serve rural communities with limited access to care, operating 362 days a year to ensure patients avoid costly ER visits. Many of our clinics qualify for state-funded tuition or student loan reimbursement grants, and we’ll support you in applying for these programs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat illnesses such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues
• Perform minor procedures (e.g., toenail removal, foreign object removal)
• Suture wounds and apply splints
• Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and manage conditions
• Review x-rays (with radiologist over-read)
• Address general dermatology, eye problems, and GYN concerns
• Interpret EKGs and manage emergencies
• Provide care for children of all ages
• Deliver occupational medicine and telemedicine services

Schedule

Clinics are open 7 days a week with extended hours:

• Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Work a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend. Sample schedule:

• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (ON); Wednesday, Thursday (OFF)
• Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday (ON); Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (OFF)

Requirements

• Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (required)
• MSN or higher education (new graduates welcome!)
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification (cost covered by MainStreet)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office (preferred)
