Job Tasks
- Examine patients and ask about their symptoms
- Diagnose common illnesses and health problems
- Prescribe medications when needed
- Order and review lab tests and medical exams
- Treat minor injuries and illnesses
- Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure
- Provide vaccinations and routine health screenings
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification: Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) licenseActive Nurse Practitioner license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- DEA license if prescribing controlled medications
