Family Nurse Practitioner

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to patients within their scope of practice
• Serves as a resource for consultation and referral for providers for other disciplines
• Ensures continuity of care for services in conjunction with hospital admissions and specialty referrals
• Initiates and supports efforts to promote wellness concepts and self-responsibility for health
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs
• Discusses cases with physician and other health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan as needed
• Provides high quality of care with respect to accepted standards
• Participates in peer review process
• Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
• Maintains acceptable patient productivity numbers
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• QUALIFICATION(S): EDUCATION Master’s degree from an approved graduate nursing program required
• QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Advanced Practice Nurse with active certification for specialty approved by the State of Missouri required
