Responsibilities
- Independently provides family care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation from admission through transfer or discharge.
- Works with the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, high quality family/patient care and safety.
- Facilitates smooth and accurate flow of information to patients/family members from the Pre op area, PACU and Operating Room, surgeons, while maintaining confidentiality and privacy for all patients.
- Serves as a patient/family advocate, using mediator approach whenever possible.
- Responsible to promote comfort and satisfaction among patients and families.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- RN License with the Maryland Board of Nursing
- BLS CPR certification
- At least 2 years of current clinical experience in the perioperative setting.
