Position Overview
As a Family Mentor and Support, you will work closely with children, their parents, and caregivers to provide direct mentorship, skill-building, and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Create structured, individualized lesson plans for children, addressing areas such as emotional regulation, social skills, and behavioral development.
- Provide one-on-one mentoring to children in their home, in the community, or via telehealth, ensuring a supportive and structured environment.
- Work with children to develop coping strategies, enhance problem-solving skills, and encourage positive behavioral changes.
- Document session details, track behavioral progress, and adjust strategies based on observed needs and challenges.
- Communicate regularly with families to ensure consistency between mentoring sessions and at-home support strategies.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working with children, adolescents, or families, particularly in contexts involving behavioral or emotional challenges.
- The ability to connect with children and families, fostering trust and creating a supportive, engaging environment.
- Ability to think creatively and adjust strategies based on each child's and family's unique needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with care coordinators and other service providers to deliver comprehensive support.
- A valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and reliable transportation to travel to client locations.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma required.
Schedule Requirements
To best serve our clients, this position requires availability during both daytime and evening hours, including at least one weekend day. Schedules are developed based on client needs and business operations and may vary.
Compensation & Work Structure
- Direct client care is compensated at $30.00–$35.00 per hour.
- Indirect client care—including documentation, travel time, care coordination, clinical supervision, and required training—is compensated at $17.05 per hour.
- Mileage is reimbursed at the current IRS standard mileage rate.
