Family Medicine Physician

About the role

National Wound Physician Group is seeking a Part-Time Family Medicine Physician in Richmond, VA. This mobile practice delivers modern wound management at the bedside in post-acute care settings — Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals — across a 40–60 mile radius of the practice location. Physicians conduct weekly wound rounds at each facility, visiting 2–3 facilities per day and treating approximately 20–30 patients daily. Clinical documentation is completed at point of care in real time using a proprietary wound-specific EMR. The role offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside wound care in skilled nursing facilities and long-term acute care hospitals.
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at assigned facilities.
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities.
• Become an expert in wound management through physician-level training and a wound fellowship.
• Document clinical encounters at point of care using the proprietary wound-specific EMR.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in the state of practice (Virginia).
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week.
• W2 employment contract; no work visa sponsorship available.

Schedule

• Part-time: minimum 3 days per week (Monday–Friday, 7 am–4 pm).
• Full-time: 4–5 days per week (Monday–Friday, 7 am–4 pm), typically a 45-hour work week.
• No call, no weekend clinical responsibilities.
• Mobile practice: travel to facilities within a 40–60 mile radius of Richmond.
• Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating 20–30 patients daily.

Pay

W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits.

Training
