Family Medicine Physician

About the role

National Wound Physician Group is seeking a part-time Family Medicine Physician for a mobile practice based in Wytheville, VA. This position offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside wound management in the post-acute care setting: Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each assigned facility
• Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20–30 patients per day
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care, in real-time during clinical rounds, using proprietary wound-specific EMR

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in the state you wish to practice
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week

Qualifications

• Become an expert in wound management through training from highly qualified wound certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities
• Complete paid training during onboarding plus a 6-month wound care fellowship

Schedule

• Part-time role: minimum of 3 days per week
• Full-time role: 4–5 days per week, Monday–Friday (7am–4pm)
• No call, no weekend clinical responsibilities
• Mobile practice: physicians visit facilities within a 40–60 mile radius of practice location

Pay

• W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits
• W2 employment contract (no work visa sponsorship available)
