Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in New York City, Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester. Sun River Health is currently seeking full-time Primary Care Physician to join our team supporting the Bay Street site.
Responsibilities
- Takes histories, performs physical examinations, and prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his /her specialty following evidence based standard of care.
- Provides off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so.
- Designs and participates in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews.
- Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards.
- Maintains legible and appropriate documentation of medical records.
- Participates and attends provider meetings.
- Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.
Requirements
- Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers.
- Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education).
- Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred.
Qualifications
- Doctorate Degree (including MD/DO).
- Board Certification, Physician License, and CPR/BLS.
Skills
Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers.
Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education)
Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
