Position Purpose
Practice as a family medicine physician at the Hospital, in the Hospital satellite medical offices and the Hospitalist Service call coverage.
Essential Functions
- Examines patients for symptoms or physical information.
- Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
- Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.
- Administers or prescribes treatments.
- Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies.
- Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.
- Refers patients to primary care physicians or medical specialists for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.
- Documents the patient's visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action.
Job Requirements
- Doctoral degree (M. D., Doctor of Medicine and D.O., Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) or equivalent.
- Physicians must be board-certified or board eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
- Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required.
- Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, professional, outgoing, and customer service oriented.
- Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Detail oriented while maintaining an extremely positive attitude.
- Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision.
- Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
- Team player with a "can do" attitude that can work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to establish and maintain professional atmosphere for employees, clients and customers.
