Career Summary

The Family Medicine Physician will provide and manage direct health care for a specified patient population under indirect supervision. Compensation may include an excellent benefits package, commencement bonus, relocation assistance, CME allowance, malpractice/liability, license(s) expense, and four weeks of paid time off.

Essential Functions

  • Staff privileges at member hospitals as appropriate, with academic work rounds and attending rounds.
  • Provide clinical supervision, in conjunction with other faculty, for resident clinics and in-patient settings, including evaluation of residents in the hospitals.
  • Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for the specified patient population.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Provide applicable clinical supervision, performance, and rounding of residents and medical students.
  • Supervise medical students who may be taken on electives and inpatient services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in the area of medical expertise.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in the area of expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience - Board-certified/board-eligible Family Medicine. The position includes participation in education efforts.
  • Licensure - Must possess and be able to obtain licensure and certification as required by applicable law and accrediting organizations. Shall maintain medical staff appointments at participating institutions. Must fulfill the requirements for and obtain a faculty appointment with the applicable department of CMED.
