About the role

The Wake Forest Health Network is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their dynamic team in High Point, North Carolina. This opportunity is ideal for APPs interested in primary care, specializing in managing chronic diseases, diagnosing and treating acute illnesses, and performing minor surgeries and injury treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
  • Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
  • Orders and interprets laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.
  • Explains the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
  • Performs procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
  • Opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
  • Potential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learners.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPAC.
  • Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing.
  • Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required.
  • Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
  • Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing.

Qualifications

Pay

$51.05 - $76.60 per hour.

Schedule

This role entails 100% outpatient care, with full-time providers working 36 patient-facing hours and 4 administrative hours. Call: Some locations offer telephone-only call with a light rotation for evenings and weekends.
