About the role
The Spartanburg Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program in Spartanburg, South Carolina is a national leader in community family medicine education. We are seeking to add a Family Medicine Faculty Physician to our core faculty.
Responsibilities
- Teach 12 Family Medicine residents per year
- First in the state to receive ACGME Osteopathic Recognition
- Balanced outpatient and inpatient settings with approximately 6 inpatient weeks annually
- Largest program in the state
- Collaborative faculty environment
Requirements
- Able to obtain a SC medical license
- Board certified in Family Medicine
- A love of teaching
- Background of practical experience or faculty development fellowship
- Prior academic teaching is preferred
- Prior POCUS or Sports Medicine training is preferred
- Obstetric care is encouraged but not required
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have the ability to obtain a SC medical license, have Family Medicine board certification, have a love of teaching, and a background of practical experience or faculty development fellowship. Prior academic teaching is not required but is preferred. The ideal candidate will have POCUS or Sports Medicine training. Obstetrical care is encouraged but not required.
Skills
The successful candidate should be able to effectively teach and mentor residents, participate in curriculum development, and contribute to the overall educational mission of the program.
