Family Law Paralegal

About the role

The paralegal will assist in matters involving child custody and divorce with assignments delegated to them by their supervising attorneys. We are growing fast, and we need a paralegal who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing legal documents and correspondence related to family law cases
• Research legal issues and gather relevant documentation
• Prepare and organize files for court hearings and trials
• Communicate with clients and other professionals to ensure accurate and timely information
• Manage case files and maintain confidentiality
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing calendars

Requirements

• Required 1-2 years experience in Family Law Legal Services under an attorney in a law firm setting in California
• Well versed in legal terminology, laws, judicial decisions, court jurisdictions, and procedures
• Experience working with little supervision
• Computer literate and tech savvy

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

$72,000 - $85,000/year

Schedule

Full-time position willing to accommodate a flexible schedule and remote work or a hybrid position. Office hours are Monday through Friday.
