Family Law Attorney

Responsibilities

• Oversee family law cases from initial filing through final resolution, ensuring each matter progresses efficiently and strategically.
• Advocate for clients in Probate and Family Court during hearings, conferences, and trial proceedings.
• Handle a range of domestic relations matters, including divorce, custody, support, alimony, and post-judgment modifications.
• Prepare well-supported pleadings, motions, agreements, and other legal documents through thorough research and analysis.
• Conduct case development activities such as reviewing facts, organizing evidence, and supporting discovery and briefing needs.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel while protecting client interests and working toward practical outcomes.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, attorneys, court staff, and other involved parties throughout each case.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Massachusetts.
• At least 2 years of experience representing clients in family law or domestic relations matters.
• Demonstrated courtroom experience in Probate and Family Court.
• Strong background in litigation, motion practice, and legal drafting.
• Able to manage an individual caseload with appropriate independence while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with civil litigation, discovery, and client advocacy in contested matters.
