About the role

The Family Impact Leader works in coordination with the Head Start program to implement Family and Community Partnership services at an assigned center. This includes promoting parent involvement, ensuring service delivery, and providing support to families.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, plans, and facilitates parent meetings.
  • Affords assistance in maintaining the recruitment process to ensure enrollment at funded levels.
  • Assists parents in assessing their needs and provides support and services as a resource.
  • Affords assistance in the implementation of other aspects of the Family and Community Partnerships service area.
  • Attends meetings related to Head Start and Family and Community Partnerships.
  • Plans, schedules, and documents center volunteers.
  • Presents and submits monthly reports of activities, in-kind contributions, and volunteer hours.
  • Keeps the Educational Impact Leader informed of all transition activities.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge of theories and practices of Human Services with a degree in a Human Service field to include community and public relations.
  • Experience working with low-income families.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate with professionals, children, parents, and community members.
  • Knowledge of geographic areas and services available.
  • Ability to schedule, manage, and work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Service field.
  • Experience in human services or related field.
  • Experience working with low-income families.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services.
