Family Counselor

About the role

The role is dedicated to providing comprehensive support services to foster youth and adoptive families. This includes counseling, case management, and coordination of community resources.

Responsibilities

• Counseling foster youth and their families on mental health issues
• Assisting in the adoption process for children in need
• Coordinating with social workers and other professionals to ensure continuity of care
• Mentoring and supporting foster youth in developing life skills and coping mechanisms

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in child welfare or mental health
• Licenses/certifications: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with trauma-informed care
• Knowledge of foster care and adoption systems

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Pay

$60,000 - $70,000 annually
