Family Centered Treatment Specialist

About the Role

The Family Centered Treatment Specialist provides quality psychotherapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families utilizing the Family Centered Treatment model. You'll deliver care primarily in clients' living environments with a flexible schedule to meet family needs, including 24/7 on-call coverage for your caseload.

Responsibilities

• Provide Family Centered Treatment (FCT) Services as per the service definition and model fidelity requirements. FCT Certification is required and must be completed within one year of employment.
• Complete FCT Checkoffs and other internal trainings within designated deadlines via our e-learning system.
• Deliver FCT services to children, adolescents, and their families, primarily in their homes and communities.
• Provide 24/7 on-call coverage to a caseload of families and children.
• Complete all required Clinical Records and FCT documents with the child and family, ensuring timely entry/upload in the Electronic Health Record.
• Develop and maintain Service Plans in coordination with the Treatment Team, following designated authorization processes.
• Work collaboratively with Treatment Team members to ensure effective communication and coordinated service provision.
• Conduct ongoing revisions and implementation of Service Plans.
• Provide psychoeducation as indicated in the Service Plan.
• Facilitate movement through the four phases of FCT treatment, completing all fidelity documents.
• Assist families in establishing weekly goals and identifying steps to reach them.
• Make referrals to services and resources on behalf of families.
• Develop and coordinate discharge plans, including aftercare needs and community resources.
• Coordinate and oversee initial and ongoing assessment activities.
• Convene the Treatment Team for Service Plan development.
• Consult with medical (e.g., primary care, psychiatric) and non-medical (e.g., Dept. of Child Services, school, Dept. of Juvenile Justice) providers, engaging community and natural supports.
• Ensure linkage to clinically appropriate services, including psychological and psychiatric evaluations.
• Provide and coordinate behavioral health services with other professionals and Treatment Team members.
• Monitor and document consumer progress.
• Participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement activities, including audits and improvement plans.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field.
• Two years’ experience working with youth or families.
• Current Family Centered Treatment Certification is preferred.

State-Specific Requirements

• Mississippi: Must be provisionally credentialed as a PCSS with eligibility to be fully credentialed as a CCSS.
• North Carolina: Must meet qualifications as a Qualified Professional (QP) with experience serving children and adolescents with a primary mental health diagnosis.
• Ohio: LSW or eligibility for provisional licensure preferred.
• Virginia: Current Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or ability to register as a QMHP with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
