Family and Consumer Science Teacher 2026-2027

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with state and district curriculum standards
• Teach courses such as nutrition, culinary arts, parenting, child development, financial literacy, sewing/textiles, wellness, and career readiness
• Supervise hands-on classroom and laboratory activities safely and effectively
• Absess student performance through projects, assignments, tests, and demonstrations
• Maintain classroom management and a positive learning environment
• Integrate technology and career-based learning into instruction
• Support student participation in leadership and career organizations such as Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
• Maintain classroom equipment, supplies, and inventory
• Communicate with parents, administrators, and support staff regarding student progress
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
• Ensure compliance with school policies and safety regulations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Education, or a related field
• Valid state teaching certification/licensure
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
