Family Advisor
Position Summary
Succinctly leads the resident recruitment process by establishing and nurturing meaningful relationships with prospects and their families, identifying individual candidate's needs, and developing and maintaining productive marketing strategies. Ensures occupancy levels, tracks resident movements, serves as the central point of contact for all prospective residents, and collaborates with the community management team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Fulfills CAPLICO Core Values and Code of Conduct at all times.
- Ensures compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies at all times.
- Fosters a positive community image and presents a professional image.
- Fosters alliances with key community individuals and professional businesses.
- Develops and distributes promotional materials to generate additional inquiries.
- Represents the community at local events by making informational presentations and leading support groups.
- Maintains and exceeds the community’s established performance measures of monthly contacts.
- Maintains budgeted occupancy goals for the community.
- Cultivates resident and family relationships to generate leads, conducts tours, assesses candidates' needs, qualifies candidates, and works towards move-in commitments.
- Follows up with prospective residents and family members through various means to encourage a move-in commitment.
- Maintains appropriate prospect databases according to community policy.
- Completes and submits required budgets, reports, analyses, and forms in a timely manner.
- Collaborates effectively with the community executive director and management team.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work Environment
- Works throughout the community/facility, local community, and marketing events.
- Moves intermittently during working hours.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Involves residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
- Involves community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate.
- Involved in handling and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB, COVID-19, and the AIDS and Hepatitis viruses.
- May be subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the work day, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
Physical Demands and Sensory Requirements
- Moves frequently throughout the workday.
- Copes with mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Able to see and hear or use prosthetics to ensure adequate sensory function.
- Independent, flexible, and effective in working with residents, employees, visitors, and support agencies.
- Good general health and emotional stability.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others, handle residents, staff, and visitors, and maintain patience, tact, and enthusiasm.
- Ability to lift, stand, walk, twist, bend, kneel, stretch, and assist with the evacuation of residents.
Specific Requirements
- Ability to speak and understand the English language.
- Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public.
- Ability to remain calm and level-headed in emergencies.
- Well-groomed, professional appearance and ability to work harmoniously with others.
- Follows written and oral instructions.
- Maintains patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as ability to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on their current maturity levels.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Preferred degree in marketing or human services field.
- Superior communication skills and strong customer service orientation.
- Valid state issued driver’s license and travel as needed.
- Prior experience in marketing to seniors, sales, senior housing, long-term care insurance, hospitality, or an appropriate healthcare/personal care background preferred.
Salary Pay Range
$90,000 - 130,000
