Fall Protection Project Manager
About the role
LJB Inc., a national engineering firm founded in 1966, is seeking a Fall Protection Project Manager for our Safety practice in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, you will coordinate and lead fall protection projects, delivering them on time while fostering client relationships. You will leverage your technical expertise in applicable codes, standards, and safety systems to oversee projects from design through installation, ensuring the highest level of worker safety in a cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Oversee production of construction documents and manage projects from design through installation using a technical background of applicable codes, standards, and safety systems.
- Maintain resource assignments using an enterprise resource program (ERP).
- Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules for new projects.
- Manage the budget of assigned projects.
- Maintain and develop client relationships to ensure the client is kept informed on project progress.
- Collaborate with internal project team members to meet client deadlines and LJB quality expectations.
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure LJB Standards and applicable code requirements are met.
- Mentor engineers, project managers, safety professionals, and designers to develop and grow the team.
- Frequent travel to project sites (potentially up to 30%) to understand customers’ needs and develop recommended scopes of work.
- Engage subconsultants and subcontractors as needed to supplement in-house capabilities.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and work as a team to support projects across the practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project manager experience in the construction of new and existing buildings or renovations utilizing steel and concrete.
- Experience with fall protection system projects.
Qualifications
- Professional Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in project or construction management, engineering, or safety (preferred).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification (preferred).
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to traverse worksites in different types of weather and perform duties requiring bending, climbing, stretching, reaching, and leaning.
- Must meet the weight capacity of design perimeters of fall protection systems (between 130 to 310 lbs).
- Understands exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Pay
Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
