What You'll Do
- Assist the Publicity team with day-to-day communications initiatives and media relations efforts focused heavily on sports, news and talk programming.
- Monitor and track media coverage across print, broadcast, digital and social platforms.
- Compile regular media coverage reports, press recaps and communications metrics.
- Conduct research on media outlets, journalists, industry trends and competitive activity.
- Help develop and maintain targeted media lists and editorial calendars.
- Aid in drafting and proofreading press materials, including press releases, media alerts, and reporter pitches.
- Assist with media events, interviews, press announcements and other communications activities.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions and cross-functional collaboration.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You'll Need
- Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (MBA students graduating by September 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Broadcasting, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in media, storytelling, and the evolving communications landscape.
- Passion for sports and news, with curiosity about the media, personalities, and stories shaping both the sports and political industries.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with media monitoring or communications tools such as Muck Rack and Critical Mention is a plus.
- A collaborative attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
- Experience with automation and/or AI tools such as chatGPT, Gemini.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
