About the Role
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to oversee open simulation lab periods for nursing courses, providing students with hands-on experience in a pathway leading to a career as a registered nurse (RN).

Course Name: Open lab support for students in NURS 115C: Nursing I, NURS 116C: Nursing IIA, NURS 117C: Nursing IIB
Schedule: Open lab hours will be Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the fall semester

Course Description
Nursing I introduces the role of the associate degree nurse and the concepts of nursing knowledge and caring within the self-care framework. Emphasis is on assessment of universal self-care requirements, including air, food, activity and rest, elimination, water, and solitude and social interaction. The course focuses on the educative/supportive nursing system and therapeutic communication to care for patients with selected self-care deficits. Professional, ethical, and legal standards are introduced to provide culturally-sensitive care.
Nursing IIA and Nursing IIB expand on nursing knowledge and caring to support growth and development over the life cycle. The emphasis is on universal, developmental, and health deviation self-care requirements. Students use educative/supportive and partially compensatory nursing systems to care for patients with self-care deficits. Professional, ethical, and legal standards guide holistic and culturally-sensitive care.
Nursing III incorporates principles from nursing knowledge and liberal arts education, focusing on patients with commonly occurring illnesses. Students use the wholly compensatory nursing system and evaluate therapeutic communication to enhance health outcomes. Critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and humanistic values are emphasized.
Responsibilities
- Support the nursing program in the educational and technical functions of NHTI’s nursing simulation lab
- Serve as a primary resource for students during open lab hours
- Assist in student preparation and support in achieving learning outcomes aligned with program goals
- Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student lab use and progress
- Assist the nursing department with coordination of simulation and skills lab activities
Requirements
- Baccalaureate in nursing with successful matriculation in a graduate or doctoral program, having met generalist requirements for a BSN or MS degree; or Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution
- Three years of teaching experience preferred
- Clinical experience in the area of anticipated teaching assignment
- Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT
Pay
$47.95–$59.45 per clinical contact hour, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience).
