FALL 2026: LEAD COACH - BEACH VOLLEYBALL (SAN DIEGO)
Founded and headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland in 2010, Volo is a community-based organization with more than 350,000 users across the US. Our users leverage Volo to organize, meet, communicate, and play within their community through fitness and social activities. Whether it's a performance sport like soccer or a social activity like cornhole, Volo provides something real: real interaction, real activity, real fun, and real impact. Volo creates free youth sports programs through adult social sports. The Volo Kids Foundation uses sport as a tool for healing and a means of uniting communities, partnering with City Council Members, community organizers, and recreation centers to launch programs across nine cities.

About the role

This part-time position is ideal for college students or individuals looking to spend more time on the field with kids. Coaches provide a safe and fun experience for children and families while joining a passionate, driven group of innovators in the youth sports industry. Responsibilities
- Serve as the direct contact with kids and families to ensure a safe and fun experience
- Run practices for groups ranging from 10 to 50+ kids
- Plan practice drills using provided resources and curriculum
- Lead both kids and other coaches through program drills in a fun and engaging way
- Maintain engagement by transitioning smoothly between drills and utilizing volunteers to prevent downtime
- Lead pre-game and post-game huddles emphasizing sportsmanship and mindfulness
- Handle field setup and cleanup each week
- Provide guidance to volunteers on drills and roles
- Support volunteers with any issues involving parents, players, or venues
- Assist with admin support as needed
- Report any player, parent, referee, or coach issues to the site lead
Schedule
Primary coaching opportunity: Thursdays from 3:30–5:30 PM at Crown Point Volleyball Courts (September 24–October 29). Additional opportunities in other San Diego locations include:
- Wednesdays in Sherman Heights: 12:45–2:45 PM (soccer)
- Thursdays in Oak Park: 12:45–2:45 PM (basketball)
- Thursdays in Logan Heights: 3:30–5:30 PM (soccer)
- Fridays in Linda Vista: 3–5 PM (soccer)
Requirements
- Experience coaching youth volleyball (preferred)
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States for Volo (sponsorship not provided)
- Reliable method of transportation
