Educational and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field with a minimum of four years professional coaching experience in respective sport. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
About the Role
Serves as assistant coach to the Court Volleyball team and supervises Beach Volleyball activities.
Responsibilities
- Teach and coach student athletes to perform in Beach Volleyball.
- Perform standard and accepted coaching duties, including team supervision and scheduling.
- Maintain team discipline and moral standards at all times and on special assignments.
- Teach, tutor, instruct, or lecture student athletes in the rules and fundamentals of their sport.
- Instruct student athletes in physical health, team concepts, and safety; design instructions for individual or team needs.
- Develop rapport with community and University personnel.
- Adhere to NCAA and conference bylaws; report all NCAA and conference violations to proper personnel.
- Support institutional compliance and academic programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
- Must have thorough understanding of sports rules, compliance regulations, and conference recruiting rules and policies.
- May be required to teach in an academic program at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.
- Must be knowledgeable of all NCAA and conference rules.
- Employment is at-will, serving at the pleasure of the Head Coach and the Athletic Director.
- Evaluation of performance is based broadly on contributions to the team’s performance.
- Oversight of the Beach Volleyball team while working seasonally with the Court Volleyball team; position will transition to Beach Volleyball as directed by NCAA and Conference schedules and timelines.
- May be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
- Security-sensitive position requiring a background check in accordance with Education Code 51.215.
