Our Intern program is a paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization’s success while applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3 days a week. Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.
Intern Expectations
- Work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session.
- While assigned to a specific division, interns will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.
Schedule
- Fall Program: Monday, September 14th, 2026 through Thursday, December 10th, 2026.
- Office Hours: 9:00 am–6:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday or as agreed upon with advisor.
- Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor’s schedules and will be approximately 3 days a week.
- Must be available to work under 30 hours per week.
Requirements
- Available to report to the New York office approximately 3 days a week.
- Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year of undergrad) OR be enrolled in a graduate school OR have a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree.
Interview Process
- Applications will close on August 14th, 2026.
- If selected, offers will be extended mid to late August.
- Program begins on September 14th, 2026.
Marketing Intern Responsibilities
- Assist in brainstorming potential marketing ideas for clients.
- Assist with NBA Tentpole events as assigned (i.e. NBA Draft).
- Assist in the execution of clients’ marketing and community relations projects (i.e. charity events, production shoots, camps, etc.).
- Assist in updating and maintaining current client information (i.e. past marketing deals, player interests, social media analytics, press kits, etc.).
- Assist with client concierge requests (i.e. flights, restaurant reservations, housing, etc.).
- Assist in the marketing team’s research of relevant industry trends and brands.
- Collaborate with other departments within Excel to support clients’ marketing endeavors.
- Work alongside Agents and Marketing Managers in gathering materials for recruiting meetings and sales pitches.
- Gain valuable insight on how Excel’s marketing department is structured and operates internally and externally.
- Have access to the Excel team for industry advice and learnings.
- May occasionally be assigned projects outside the Marketing group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel.
Pay
$17.00 per hour.
