The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area (LCCRSF) is proud of its tradition of hosting Fall semester externs, offering a valuable early step in your law career. Join us in 2026 for a learning experience with direct service attorneys and litigators on the front lines of civil rights work.

Qualifications

  • Current law student
  • Understanding and commitment to LCCRSF’s mission
  • Experience and/or a demonstrated commitment to racial justice, immigrant justice, civil rights, and/or social justice organizing

Skills

Experience with state or federal court civil litigation preferred

Benefits

Clerks and externs may be considered for post-graduate fellowships at LCCRSF in the future

Work Schedule

Fall externs are ordinarily expected to work 20 to 25 hours per week for 10 weeks. The Fall 2026 program is flexible and will begin around mid-August and end before December 15th.
