About the role
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach the mental health clinical component of NHTI’s nursing courses, which provide students with essential knowledge in a pathway leading to a career as a registered nurse (RN). Clinical instruction supports direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings.
Courses
- NURS 115C: Nursing I – Introduces the role of the associate degree nurse and concepts of nursing knowledge and caring within the self-care framework. Focuses on assessment of universal self-care requirements (air, food, activity/rest, elimination, water, solitude/social interaction) and promotion of normalcy. Clinical sites are in medical/surgical settings.
- NURS 116C: Nursing IIA & NURS 117C: Nursing IIB – Expands on nursing knowledge and caring to support growth and development over the life cycle. Emphasizes universal, developmental, and health deviation self-care requirements, with a focus on educative/supportive and partially compensatory nursing systems. Clinical experiences occur in various settings.
Credits and lab/practicum hours vary for clinical instructors. Courses are held on the NHTI Campus in Concord, NH, and at clinical sites in the area.
Responsibilities
- Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
- Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
- Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies, accreditations, and standards.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate in nursing with successful matriculation in a graduate or doctoral program (having met generalist requirements for a BSN or MS degree), or a Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Three years of teaching experience preferred.
- Clinical experience in the area of anticipated teaching assignment.
- Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.
Pay
$47.95–$59.45 per clinical contact hour, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience).
