Faculty / Theatre Director
About the role
The successful candidate will teach Theatre courses and oversee productions, recruit high school students, and participate in departmental initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Teach Theatre courses and oversee productions
- Recruit high school students interested in theatrical productions
- Oversee Theatre courses and productions
- Engage with students both inside and outside the classroom
- Participate in meetings/committee work
- Advise students academically
- Hold regular office hours
- Aid in Departmental initiatives, College events, and other activities
Requirements
- Terminal degree (MFA or Doctorate in Theatre) required
- Three to five years’ experience teaching theatre and related courses at the collegiate level strongly preferred
- Experience using Canvas Learning Management System, or similar LMS preferred
- Ability to remain flexible, employ a range of teaching methods, and effectively incorporate technology into the teaching/learning process
- Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, organizational and record-keeping skills
- Commitment to applying active learning strategies in the classroom and utilizing online/hybrid teaching modalities
